UPDATE: Barksdale Air Force Base Residents Receive An Update On Water Issue, No Boil Order

Nov. 24, 2021, 11:00 a.m.: An email sent to residents of Barksdale says the base "did

*not* lose water last night."

The message, attributed to Col. Mark C. Dmytrzsyn, Commander, 2nd Bomb Wing, says residents should have full water supply and there is "NO NEED to boil"

On-base food options are opening.

Nov. 23, 2021, 7:30 p.m.: An update on the base's Facebook page states that due to the outage, several services on the base will be closed on Nov. 24, including the youth center and legal offices.

A separate post on the 2nd Bomb Wing Command Chief Facebook page, encourages residents to conserve water and be prepared for a boil order once service is restored.

Residents of Barksdale Air Force Base are without water Tuesday evening after an off base incident lead to repairs that meant turning off the utility for the entire base.

Residents were informed in the afternoon that the water would be turned off at 5 p.m.

A representative for the base says it was an off-site incident.

Barksdale Air Force Base Public Affairs Division said, "In response to an off base public works matter the base is maximizing telework opportunities for Nov. 24. We are in contact with local public work directors and we are confident in a swift resolution."

As of publication, Barksdale does not have an estimated time that service will be restored.
